Winter Walk

A long walk in the woods on a beautiful, sunny day. Not a lot of vintage in this outfit, but still a favorite hat and a pair of warm boots. And also, a sweater that I liked just after I bought it, and then couldn't convince myself to wear it. But eventually it grew on me, I like the color combo and the lacing. I had to change from shorts to jeans later in the day 'cause it turned out to be colder than I thought.

Leather jacket- vintage, from my aunt
Nepalese hat- gift from d.
Wool sweater - Kinzie
Chambray shirt- borrowed long time ago from my Dad.
Earrings- felt and cherry print fabric from an art fair in Budapest.
Vintage shearling gloves- v.old
Bag- vintage The Bridge. Loved all their bags in a store in Florence last spring.
Shorts- Zara changed into jeans-Seven
Suede boots-don't remember

Vintage Heaven featured on Refinery 29

I was supposed to mention that Vintage Heaven Sale was featured on Refinery 29 website. This is really great! The sale is still going on, so please come by.
Here is what they wrote:

This Weekend's Cant-Miss Sale: Vintage Heaven

By: Shani Silver
"This weekend, we've got your one-stop-shop for vintage in the bag. Vintage Heaven, a pop-up sale happening this Saturday and Sunday only, features sweet finds from the likes of The Roo Vintage, Voila Ola, Dethrose Vintage, and more. The theme this time around is "dressing outside the box," and that's pretty much right up our alley. It all takes place at Heaven Gallery, which can be tricky to find. It's at 1550 North Milwaukee Avenue, 2nd floor, between Damen Avenue and Honore Street. Sale hours are 12 to 6 p.m., both days. We strongly suggest hopping on the Blue Line or a bus. Why waste precious shopping moments looking for parking?"

February Flyer

Finally, the February flyer with me as a model, haha. It's been up on Vintage Heaven for a while now, but this didn't diminish my excitement about the whole thing.

Here is the info about the project:

I am wearing designs by uber talented Alma Wieser from her latest Futurism collection, which I just love. But this dress is gorgeous and truly exceptional. I love how the sash breaks it. And the hat, I'm mad about hats ;-)

The photo was taken by the lovely Isadora Giallorenzo at the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art, in Chicago.
Isa and Alma are a duo behind Vintage Heaven sales.

Info about the sculpture:
artist: Mychajlo Urban
American, born Luka, Ukraine, 1928
Untitled (n.d.)
Stainless steel

And here are my thoughts when I saw the flyer for the first time:

"I am honored to be on this flyer. This is so great, especially that the theme of modern, minimalist, artsy look is right up my alley.
I love how different this postcard looks. The contrast of black and grey; the modern
font; "dressing outside the box" juxtaposed with the sculpture.
Isa, thank you so much for all the hard work you put into this project!!!
Alma, thank you so much for your beautiful designs!!!"

New items for sale

Some new items for sale this Saturday at Vintage Heaven.

Gone Swan

I definitely have been gone for too long. I need to stop swanning from now on. And I hope to keep this resolution. Here is just a simple everyday outfit. I just found this sweater in my closet and thought this is a good time to sport it.

Swan sweater-vintage, thrifted
Hat-vintage, thrifted
Faux leather pants-Terranova
Leather bag- thrited, it's great because it can be converted in a smaller bag
Boots-Justin, American made. My favorite boots, I have 2 pairs. If I see them I always buy them for my customers.
